A practice focused on meditating deeply on uplifting memorized passages from the world’s wisdom traditions.

  • As taught by Ek nath Easwaran. You could be of any religion or none to practice this form of meditation and the supportive disciplines, the process of stilling the mind. Our time together consists of reading or tapes by Easwaran, discussion and group meditation.
  • Passage meditation is a practice of silently repeating a memorized inspirational text—such as a prayer, poem, or sacred passage—to focus and calm the mind. Taught widely by Eknath Easwaran, it helps cultivate inner peace and spiritual qualities by directing attention toward uplifting words. During meditation, you simply sit quietly, repeat the passage slowly, and gently return to it whenever the mind wanders, allowing its meaning to settle deeply into your consciousness.
